We have been in Italy now for just over one month and have had approximately 30 pizzas…we are close to averaging a pizza a day! Food here is definitely the “dolce vita” with the fresh pasta, wine, bread, prosciutto and cheeses, can I just say I am in heaven! Here is a quick update to our whereabouts in the last month.

The Italian Alps and Lake Como. We did a little skiing, skating and hiking.
We picked up my mother-in-law here:

In the breathtaking Tuscan countryside close to Lucca.

When you get to Rome, I have another pizza place that you just HAVE TO VISIT!!! It is HEAVENLY! It is right outside the gates of Vatican City. I don’t have the exact address, but here’s how to get there: facing out from the front doors of the Vatican towards St. Peter’s Square, take the first exit out of the square on your left, past the bathrooms. Outside the gate, walk down the street away from the square. On your right, as you walk away from the Vatican, there are a series of small alleys. Take the second alleyway, go just 25 feet down that alleyway and on your right there is a storefront that sells pizza (not really a restaurant, just a stand and eat there for locals.) Get the eggplant pizza – it’s to die for, as are ALL the other flavors. I absolutely guarantee that it will be the best pizza you ever taste anywhere in the world!

Wow, Holly you take beautiful photos. Good to see you in a few of them. So glad I am on your list. I think you definitely need tp write a book or start a blog on traveling w/kids, etc. Sooo glad Gramma Girl is there w/you. She was sooooooooo excited and we are too.
